This year’s international City Ratings includes 403 cities from 38 countries around the world.

PeopleForBikes City Ratings goes global again for 2026! Earlier this year, we released the ratings for 3,019 U.S. cities. Now, we’re proud to announce the results of our international ratings, which includes 403 cities from 38 countries around the world.

City Ratings is an annual, data-driven approach to evaluate, compare, and celebrate the best cities for bicycling. Based on data from our Bicycle Network Analysis (BNA), each city receives a City Ratings score on a scale of 0–100. A city’s score represents how well its bike network connects people to jobs, schools, healthcare, shopping, recreation, and other everyday destinations. Cities that score 50 or higher typically have connected, low-stress infrastructure — including slow neighborhood streets, off-street bike paths, and protected bike lanes — that provides safe and easy access to the places people need to go.

42 new international cities were added to the program this year, including cities in 12 new countries: Austria, Czechia, Denmark, Hungary, Lithuania, Malaysia, Norway, Peru, Poland, Romania, Switzerland, and Vietnam.
