In 2024 and 2025, PeopleForBikes' VoteForBikes campaign tracked and supported a historic amount of funding on pro-bike ballot measures across the country with voters approving nearly $30 billion for better biking. In 2026, states and municipalities across the country will continue to vote on measures that invest in expanding and improving the quality and accessibility of great places to ride bikes. California
Fresno | Measure S | $4.8 billion
If approved, Measure S, also known as “Better Roads and Safe Streets,” will unlock $4.8 billion in local transportation funding available for neighborhood improvements. The measure specifically identifies 120 miles of new bike and pedestrian trails and allows funds for bike lanes, Complete Streets, and Safe Routes to School.
Marin County | Measure B | $1.5 billion over 30 years | PASSED
If approved, Measure B will extend the SMART tax, unlocking $1.5 billion over 30 years to enhance and expand safe, connected, user-friendly pathway networks; complete a planned rail/pathway expansion to improve regional connectivity, and support other pathway opportunities.

Florida
Statewide | $635 million
There are six ballot measures across Florida totaling a potential $635 million in funding to improve bicycle-related infrastructure.

Statewide | $473 million

South Carolina
Charleston County | 2026 Transportation Sales Tax | $690 million
If approved, the 2026 Transportation Sales Tax program will allocate $690 million to the county Greenbelt Program, creating opportunities for connected bike trails and paths for recreation and commuting.

Austin | General Obligation Bond | $120 million
If approved, the Austin General Obligation Bond will allocate $120 million for parkland acquisition, infrastructure, and improvements, creating a tremendous opportunity to fund new trail connectivity and the improvement of existing parks and trails.
