Act Now: Tariff Relief on Bicycle Products

PeopleForBikes and our bicycle industry members have advocated for tariff relief on bicycle products since Section 301 tariffs first began affecting the market in 2018. September 30 is the deadline for the expiration of all Section 301 tariff exclusions, we’re asking for your help in persuading Congress and the Biden administration to remove electric bicycles, bicycles, and bicycle products from the various lists of products subject to these tariffs.

PeopleForBikes sent a letter to the USTR asking for action and clarity on the future of the tariff program so that our members can better plan and prepare. We estimate that bicycle businesses saved more than $100 million in duty payments from the latest round of exclusion extensions alone, helping maintain critical margins during a difficult period for the industry.
