Why I Ride
I ride to work every day of the year. I ride in snow, ice, rain and extreme heat. I ride to the recycling center and cart my garbage on my old bike cart. I have panniers for groceries and a basket. I have brought an amazing amount of objects to work on my bike. Cakes, dog carriers, strollers just about everything. All powered by me. I have worn out the tread on my rear tire after three years of commuting on it. This is my second commuting bike. I live in a small town. People have very little respect for my commitment to biking as a preferred mode of transportation. I run the risk of being hit constantly. Yet I still ride. You are much more in touch with the world around you when you are out of the box of your car. It is the least I can do for the environment.
