Seeing My World From A Bicycle
Riding a bicycle I get to see the beautiful parts of a city, its hidden treasures. No, not the museums or billboards or over traveled bicycle paths - I watch as the red tiled roofs of homes blend with the tops of trees as my journey becomes a living vista of impressionist paintings.
Faster I go down the lush covered hillsides as the small wildlife around me scurry in wonder at my thrill seeking speed. I'm alone in a world Christopher Columbus and Lewis and Clarke enjoyed so many hundreds of years ago. The majesty of the greenery beneath me and the unmatched colors of the skies above bring me a happiness few others have.
Just me, my bicycle and the grandeur of the world I chose to make my own - it takes no money, very little time and I do no harm to the scenery around me. We all win when I go for my bicycle ride in the city.
