Daniel Glinski - Livonia, MI
My brother and I are avid cyclists and vintage Schwinn enthusiasts. We both belong to an online Schwinn bike forum. A member had been trying to sell his 1958 Sptifire in 2012 and I saw it and thought it was a neat bike and that was as far as it went. When Christmas came along, I opened a box that had a picture of it in it (from my brother). Looking confused, he brings it in from outside. He had contacted the seller and arranged a purchase of the bike and was able to keep it a secret until Christmas morning. My brother attends Michigan State University and the seller was close to his school. Since he was at school he did not have a car to transport it in and had to borrow one. The only car he could get was a 4 door Dodge Neon. Also, I had visited him at the University between the time that he acquired the bike and gave it to me; he had to hide it in his girlfriends dorm room.
I worked on it, cleaned it up, and put more miles on it in 2013 than any other of my four vintage Schwinn bikes.blog comments powered by Disqus
