Sanity check

Growing up in Tucson, AZ, I rode bikes off and on growing up but really got into biking during high school, when I began commuting to and from school by bike and joined the El Grupo cycling team in 2008. El Grupo taught me to overcome challenges while biking, which has spilled over and given me confidence in overcoming other challenges I may face.

Bicycling for me has been a long time mode of transportation as it is cheap, keeps me fit, and is all around fun. The freedom to travel wherever I want and need without dealing with parking and the vast majority of traffic issues is especially satisfying. As a graduate student, and while I was an undergraduate, bicycling also provided a well needed break from the stress of studies and was a great way to catch up with friends, keep in shape, and recharge. I am committed to being a lifelong bicyclist and am motivated to start being a more vocal advocate for bicycling and public transportation friendly communities!
