Racing Across America for Bicycle Safety

On March 18, 2011, I was the victim of a near fatal hit and run accident: 
During a training ride in Fairmount park, Philadelphia, a speeding motorist plowed into me, making no attempt to brake before or after the collision
The force of the impact was so great that I was thrown high into the air like a rag doll and landed over 20 feet from the collision
Despite sustaining severe injuries including multiple broken bones, fractures, severe pulmonary contusions and abdominal bleeding, miraculously I did not sustain any head trauma.
Over the last two years I have fought my way back to fitness (fast enough to win the PA masters State TT in 2012)
Having survived this ordeal I have resolved to do whatever I can to increase road safety for cyclists of any level
In June 2013, I will be taking on the world’s toughest endurance race – Race Across America, for the charities:
