purpose and passion
I have been riding since I taught myself how when I was 5 on a tiny bike with no chain and a ramp. As I grew up over the years riding, I always was the kid with massive leg muscles. Needless to say, living in the middle of farmland in Indiana, caused taking a little ride up to the store actually meant riding for at least 25 miles. Once i got out of High school I signed up for the Army and hung the bike up for 7 years. Within those 7 years I was injured and found out I have every type of arthritis in my knees. I was put on a non deployable profile and processed out. This saddened me big time. After getting out I didnt know what to do with myself. My knees were super weak after being always wrapped up. Then one day i go yard sale'n with my wife at the time and find a sweet K2 mountain bike. From then on I haven't stopped riding. I've ridden the mountains of TN, the beaches of FL, the farmland plains of Indiana, the deserts of AZ and now the big city of Los Angeles. I have now brought the K2 back to life with news parts for my gf to ride. And i now have (thx to my awesome supportive mother) a 2013 Trek Crossrip. Together we ride to better our health and happiness and it's working out wonderfully. She's already lost 10lbs not even a month into it and my knees aren't near as weak as they used to be. I'm happy, healthy and couldn't be more proud to be a cyclist. I could have sat on my ass like the doc told me too but i didnt. I chose to live with a purpose and a passion.
