Only a Few More Scraped Knees Before I was Off to The Races
Scott Swenson - Littleton, CO
Was a Western Flyer w/20"" wheels. I learned to ride it when I was 4 or 5 and at a certain point told Dad to let me go. I knew from a deep place that I only had two, maybe three more scraped knees until I was on my own. He let me go, I scraped the knees, ruined a couple more pair of denim jeans and was off to races!
Next were the blue Schwinn Stingray (so awesome!), a way too big but oh so cool black English three speed with full 700c wheels, then graduted to a Schwinn Contintental (ugly brown, but had the cool double braking levers on the bars), then my first French bike, a Hirondelle ManuFrance...stolen during summer college break, then, a steady parade of Italian frames-Bianchi, Tomosinni, Pinarello...Next up were the mountain bikes, too many to list..... and now I'm 57 and still building, riding and in love with bikes.blog comments powered by Disqus
