My bike history

My bike history

I started loving bikes in the late 70s. BMX was all the rage back in the day. I dreamed of racing BMX and spent hours on my dept store bike in the field at the end of my street. Fast forward to the 90s and MTB was my main bicycling interests but I could never quite abandon my favorite BMX, a Skyway TA race bike. Over time I have loved them all, BMX, MTB, banana seat bikes, old Raleigh 3-speeds, balloon tire cruisers, I was even hooked on low rider bikes for a few years and still have one! Anything unique caught my eye for awhile so I accumulated a tandem and a high wheeler. I gained alot of weight delivering pizzas in the early 2000s and bicycling has helped me maintain a healthy weight. 2 years ago my BMX roots came back big time and I collected a dozen or so Old School bikes until the garage was packed. This year my favorite bike company Skyway has returned to the bike business. I sold off most of the stuff I have accumulated and am building a dream bike that I plan to ride for the rest of my life! I still have my old skyway BMX as well. I ride MTB races, BMX races and have started Cyclocross races this year, having all kinds of fun and meeting heck of cool bike people!
