How night riding reminds me of who I am, not what I do

How night riding reminds me of who I am, not what I do

I am a mother, wife, caregiver, problem solver, a good friend. I love being one who can and will help and nourish my community.

At the end of the day, I can be tired, grumpy, feel unappreciated and possibly resentful. So, instead of raging and becoming passive /aggressive, I ride.

I strapped on my headlamp and take to the trail a few blocks from home. I listen to the wildlife beyond my view, I feel the strength of legs while zipping  through my three mile sanctuary. I like to remind myself that I am strong, fierce and beautiful. I become my true self without duties and obligations.

When I arrived home after riding my trail and looping through neighborhoods, I sleep soundly for no matter during the day, I take the time to be me.
