Growing up on a Bike
As a young girl of maybe eight, I would ride my bike from Ontario to Niagara Falls, NY. I lived visiting my grandparents via the bicycle. Riding alongside the Niagara river was a terrific experience. The town was set up in a fashion that one could get anywhere by bike. Now many years later, as a forty-two year old mother of six children... I have passed that adventurous love for biking on to them. We own sixteen bikes plus two tandems ... Everyone rides! Life is too short to sit inside when one can discover and enjoy nature by bike. I ride nearly year round and often with one of my six! I would love to see Indy become more bike friendly. Giving a child the love for biking is Irreplaceable. I love all of my bikes.. But my favorite neighborhood bike is my Gypsy Electra! I feel beautiful on it!!Be adventurous..learn to love to bike here and there with your children. It is a wonderful way to communicate and build a relationship with them.
