For the fun of it!
Now as a 57 year old guy, I love to ride for the fun of it - and for me the fun is based on feeling the energizing power after a 50 mile or a century ride. But you know, what makes it fun? Rding my bike brings back so many memories. Some memories are sensory, like the moisture on my face on a foggy day or the feeling of speeding down a hill a bright sunny day. Some memories are of my childhood spent riding my bike to school over the hilly roads of Walnut Creek, California. Now I live in Maine. Not only do I ride a road bike for fun, but when the Maine winter hits, I love being out on the icy trails on a mountain bike with studded tires! Back in 1968 in Walnut Creek, I never imagined that some day I would be riding a bike on a frozen lake or an icy trail—but even the winter rides bring back memories - some sensory, some visual of riding my bike to school as a kid. It’s also an incredible way to stay fit, too.!
