When I started biking to work in 2009 I weighed in at a whopping 380 pounds. I made many changes to my diet and exercise that year, but I attribute much of my success to being able to combine exercise with my daily commute. Because of the way traffic and parking work, I was able to bike to work in less time than I could drive and eliminate the excuse that I didn't have time to exercise. Now I enjoy biking to work daily as part of maintaining a weight loss of more than 150 lbs.
