Finding a path

'do not follow where the path may lead - go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.' r.w. emerson. This quote never sat well with me in the context of blazing a trail in the wilderness. I was always caught up in its literal meaning. But blazing a trail in the city, with my bike, that makes sense. When I committed to riding my goal was to bike as many miles as I drove. I got support from seasoned (and I mean all four seasons) riders. I was educated and encouraged. I met my goal, and I did it safely! Although biking is a very individual thing, there is this community with all sorts of trails.
