Cycling

On April 21, 2012 I weighed 420 lbs. I had been working with Dr.Mark Neff on getting gastric bypass . I was told it would take more then just the operation to get to where I wanted to be. I told him I wanted to start riding a bike. I had both knees replaced so he said that would be perfect. I had the operation on 5/7/2012. I wanted a hybrid so I had to wait until I lost some weight to buy my bike. I went to Peddlers Bike Shop in Deptford NJ.Even though I couldn't buy a bike right away, they treated me like a cyclist, which I loved. I started riding in Sept and since then have lost 200 lbs. I have bought a Trek Domane road bike since and now ride in many charity events, which I love to do. My whole family rides now as well, along with a few friends. I credit a lot of things for the transformation I have made in the past year from Dr Neff, my family, my cycling teams, and to Peddlers. Cycling has changed me for the better.
