Blind rider
I have been riding since I was able to get on a bike at 4 yrs old. It's been my way of transportation since I was allowed out of the house unsupervised. I have a rare condition called achromatopsia It is a disorder that keeps me from seeig color, definition, distance and accompanies itself with severe photophobia. But I am a very dtuborn person. I find ways around my situation to get out there and continue on. I am a mother of two young children with plans to teach them to ride along side of me. I take them along on all my trips with my burley cub trailer. I wear special red lenses to help me see for a safe trip. My girls think of my bike as my car as do I. I encourage everyone to ride and those who don't to mind all around exaust people tend to forget how powerful and dangerous cars are. I have motivated my family and friends I join in the rides and get a bike and get out there. It's nice to see my family trying to get out there and meet up on group rides. I would love to get awareness out for drivers and people to co exist on the roads safely and respectfully. I can never have a listener so this is my only way of transportation. Busses are unrealistic at times and biking is so much more empowering to me. And I believe my girls and my family look up to me for putting myself out there and getting around with out the assistance of others I love biking and will always and forever push those around me to get out there.
