A banana bike that rode like the wind

I shared a bike with my brother when younger.  I got to ride it sometimes.  By the time I was 12 back in 1971, I got my first bike to call my own.  It was a banana bike that rode like the wind -- at least that is what it felt like.  I pedaled back to brake or used the left hand brake for the front.  With that bike, I mastered the local hill with no gears.  I now have a hybrid that I've ridden on trails and even to work a few times.  However, nothing compares to my first bike where the rides provided freedom and healing journies for the soul -- even if just circling around the neighborhood and back.  And, yes, my brother and I continued to ride together.
