Partnerships Increase Our Influence

PeopleForBikes forges strategic partnerships to broaden our strength and influence. We align with national groups and initiatives that have the greatest potential to improve bicycling in communities across America.

From supporting programs that make towns safer for biking to sponsoring national bicycling conferences, we focus our efforts on programs that work. The League of American Bicyclists, the International Mountain Bicycling Association, and the Alliance for Biking and Walking are just some of the national groups we fund; we’ve invested more than $5 million in the last six years alone. PeopleForBikes has served as the primary sponsor of the League’s National Bike Summit, held annually in Washington, D.C., since its inception in 2001.

The PeopleForBikes Foundation is the host of the Safe Routes to School National Partnership, an program designed to create safe, convenient, and fun opportunities for children to walk and bicycle to school.

Because bicycling positively affects so many aspects of our society, improving community health and reducing traffic congestion, we’ve also joined forces with many powerful non-bicycling organizations, such as AARP, the American Heart Association, the PTA, and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.

Together, we demonstrate that improved opportunities for bicycling benefit us all.
