PFB pledge count crosses 50,000 mark

Posted on Aug 24, 2010

As of this weekend, more than 50,000 people have signed the peopleforbikes.org pledge for better bicycling in America! Thanks for your support. If you haven't signed the pledge yet or shared the PFB pledge with your friends, we hope you will. We're on the cusp of something great -- with the collective voice of all bicycling supporters speaking together, we can really make bicycling safer, more convenient, and more fun for every type of rider.

We've been hard at work to make peopleforbikes.org a cool place to hang out. Now you can track our progress toward our pledge count goals with our interactive Pledge Tracker on the homepage. Make sure you check out the other new homepage functionality: you can use the Who's for Bikes tabs to see how your state ranks in number of pledges so far (states), find out which types of riders have signed the pledge (riders), and read about hometown bicycling victories around the country (communities).

Riders from Georgia were psyched to be able to track how their state stacked up in the pledge count. They've been on a mission to get as many Georgia pledge-signers as possible, and have moved up from rank #47 to rank #9 in ten days! Think your state can beat them? Rally local riders you know to join in this friendly competition by signing the peopleforbikes.org pledge. In the end, we'll all benefit with a bike-friendly America.
