Iowa: Speak up for new trails near you
November 01, 2013
Do you want better bicycling in Iowa? We're partnering with the Iowa Bicycle Coalition to get the word out about important meetings for bicycling in your state.
You could have a new trail connecting your community or the next protected bike lane in your neighborhood. All you have to do is show up at one of six meetings held by the Iowa DOT in November.
The Iowa DOT is seeking public input for a new statewide bike plan at the six meetings and online. This plan will lay out the Iowa bicycling strategy for the next three decades.
Even if your trail or bike lane is just an idea, now's the time to make your pitch. This plan will be the guide for what bikeways are built. Your input about your dreams for better bicycling is needed now. There are millions of dollars at stake.
If you would like to be involved, please consider attending one of the public meetings listed below.
