A week to remember
This week, National Bike Week, has been marked by all kids of amazing, unprecedented bike-friendly announcements, events, and facility unveilings around the country. Here is a small sampling.
Philadelphia: The city announced a new proposed bicycle network that will roughly double the miles of marked bike lanes to 400. Read more
Madison: This Tuesday, Madison city engineers began installing European-style red pavement markers intended to minimize conflicts between motorists and bicyclists at busy intersections. Read more
Seattle: Seattle Mayor Mike McGinn joined transportation advocates Tuesday to announce a multi-year initiative designed to get people out of their cars and onto bikes, transit or back on their feet. Read more
Washington D.C.: A new two-way bicycle lane has been placed in the center of Pennsylvania Avenue, and soon will open for riding from the White House to the Capitol. Read more
